Minna no Matsuri is Trier’s volunteer-run Japanese summer festival at Nikolaus-Koch-Platz. Biyori served matcha lattes plus usucha and koicha, guiding visitors through the taste and texture of each style.

At Minna no Matsuri, Biyori hosted a tea booth:

  • We prepared matcha lattes for a gentle, café-style introduction.
  • We served traditional usucha (thin tea) and koicha (thick tea), explaining the differences in body, foam, and flavor so guests could explore what suits them.
  • Throughout the day we offered quick tastings and answered questions about Japanese tea, utensils, and everyday tea rituals.

Highlights: Many visitors tried matcha for the first time with a latte, then compared it to usucha and koicha to experience how texture and preparation change sweetness, umami, and intensity.

Your place in a workshop is confirmed once the full payment has been received. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email with all relevant details. Please check this carefully and reach out if anything seems incorrect.

Cancellations and Refunds

If you need to cancel your participation, please let us know as soon as possible. Cancellations made 72 hours or more before the workshop date will be fully refunded. For cancellations made less than 72 hours in advance, the fee is non-refundable, but you may transfer your spot to another person. Unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for non-attendance.

In the unlikely event that the workshop must be cancelled or rescheduled by us—for example due to illness or unforeseen venue issues—you may choose between a full refund or transferring your booking to a future date. We cannot cover travel or accommodation costs related to such changes.

Event Conduct

We kindly ask participants to arrive on time so the session can begin together in a relaxed and unhurried way. Respectful and considerate behavior toward others is expected at all times.

Photography for personal use is welcome, but please ask before taking photos of other participants. Should anyone behave disruptively or disrespectfully, the facilitator reserves the right to ask them to leave without refund.

Allergies and Dietary Restrictions

Some of the sweets served may contain common allergens such as nuts, soy, or gluten. If you have any allergies or dietary restrictions, please inform us at the time of booking. While we do our best to accommodate, participation is ultimately at your own discretion.
