Discover the art of wagashi — traditional Japanese sweets inspired by the beauty of the seasons.
This private two-hour workshop (up to 3 participants) introduces nerikiri, a delicate confection made from white bean paste and mochi. Each session follows a seasonal theme, with designs and colors reflecting nature — from soft spring blossoms to autumn leaves.
During the workshop, you will learn:
- How to prepare and handle nerikiri dough using carefully selected ingredients
- Coloring and shaping techniques with traditional tools
- The meaning behind seasonal motifs and how they are expressed in wagashi
With step-by-step guidance, you will create four handmade nerikiri, each with its own form, color, and character.
All materials and tools are provided — you can simply focus on the process.
At the end of the session, your sweets will be carefully packaged to take home — perfect to share or enjoy with tea.
The workshop includes:
- All ingredients and use of tools
- Elegant packaging for your creations
- Japanese tea, light snacks, and refreshments
Whether you are new to wagashi or already familiar with Japanese sweets, this workshop offers a calm and creative way to experience Japanese culture through taste, form, and seasonality.
