A relaxed and welcoming gathering where you can enjoy kimono, whether you come alone or are just starting out. It’s a space to meet others who love kimono, as well as those who are curious and want to begin their journey.
You’re also very welcome to join in regular clothes, so there’s no pressure — beginners are always welcome. Based in Düsseldorf and Bonn, we organize small, gentle outings such as café visits, walks, and seasonal activities.

Activities
We meet for simple, seasonal moments —
lunch gatherings, quiet café visits,
walks through the city, or small local events.
Nothing formal, nothing rushed —
just time to enjoy kimono together.
In Germany, wearing kimono can feel rare.
This is a place where it becomes natural again —
even just for a few hours.
How to join
There is no membership.
You can simply join when an event feels right.
Events are announced via E-mail and LINE.
The following individuals may not be admitted to Biyori events:
- People who disrespect or belittle others
- Those who create uncomfortable atmospheres through arrogance, gatekeeping, or power-tripping
- Individuals who pressure others into buying expensive kimono, accessories, or brands
- People who repeatedly cause trouble, drama, or discomfort within the community
- Those who do not respect Japanese culture, etiquette, or the spirit of the gathering
- Individuals who are unable to interact with others in a peaceful and considerate manner
Biyori events are intended to be a warm, welcoming, and safe space for everyone — including beginners, international participants, and those simply wishing to enjoy kimono together peacefully.
