About Kimono
This antique tsukesage houmongi is dyed in a deep teal blue with a smooth, slightly muted finish typical of older silk. The design features large white floral motifs with green and pale yellow leaves, placed carefully along the lower body and sleeve area.
As characteristic of tsukesage, the motifs are positioned individually and do not cross the seams. This results in a calm and balanced appearance, less formal than a full houmongi but clearly more refined than everyday kimono. The scale of the flowers gives the piece presence, while the restrained placement keeps the overall impression composed.
